Manufacturing

The carriage of delicate freight at times needs creative solutions. One example of which being the transportation of aluminium profiles for the door and window industry – these are principally 6-metre-long lengths of high-value materials that need to be transported in metal stillages. Due to the needs of the manufacturers and the requirement to always get the empty stillages returned, our customers often require a dedicated vehicle service.

White Logistics are fantastic at what they do and always gives us at Alpha Fabrication peace of mind knowing that our consignments will arrive on site promptly and in pristine condition. We specialise in short lead-time projects which not all transport companies can accommodate after certain cut-off times, but we know that we can rely on White Logistics to get the job done at short notice

As we all looked forward towards a greener future, conversations began to review our combined green credentials and we worked closely with our customer to devise a groupage model that would work to create efficiencies within both businesses whilst not compromising service.

By putting in place infrastructure to manage empty stillages and returns, and offering a diverse fleet including Moffett delivery, our new groupage solution significantly reduced dead miles and lowered our collective carbon footprints in addition to continuing to satisfy the customer’s FORS needs. Our “can-do” attitude runs through the business top-to-bottom, whether it’s a high-level model change, or our drivers going the extra mile and offloading by hand, we always find a way.
